型態特徵
Dioecious or monoecious herbs, woody at base, with long, stiff stinging hairs. Leaves alternate, coarsely serrate or parted; cystoliths punctiform; stipules intrapetiolar, large. Inflorescences simple or paniculate spikes, axillary, solitary or paired; flowers clustered on the rachis. Male flowers: perianth 4- or 5-parted, segments valvate; stamens 4 or 5; female flowers: perianth ovoid-tubular, 2 or 3-toothed; stigma subulate, papillose. Achenes broad, oblique, compressed, ovoid, ellipsoid, or spheroid.
Two species from Africa to Eastern Asia. One in Taiwan.
