型態特徵
Shrubs or small trees. Leaves spirally arranged subopposite short petioled. Flowers in terminal or axillary clusters or racemes, sometimes subtended by braces; perianth tube corolla-like, cylindrical, the lobes 4 mm spreading; stamens 8, nearly sessile, inserted in 2 rows on the tube, mostly included; ovary 1-celled; style very short or 0, the stigma large, catitate. Fruit a fleshy or leathery drupe. Seed with crustaceous testa.
