型態特徵
Annual amphibious herbs, erect; branches sparsely glandular-pilose. Leaves opposite, sessile, entire, glabrous. Cleistogamous flowers 1 or 2 in axils of middle stem leaves or fasciculate at apex of short branches in depauperate plants; chasmogamous flowers solitary, in middle and upper leaf axils, or sometimes lacking; calyx campanulate, cleft nearly to base, lobes 5, ebracteolate; corolla purple, campanulate, lobes 5, bilabiate, upper lobes 2, outermost in bud; stamens 4, included, didynamous; posterior 2 fertile, anterior 2 staminodes; anthers distinct, 2-celled, cells unequal, pilose at apex; style simple, stigma bilobed. Capsule enclosed by calyx, loculicidally dehiscent valves 4. Testa of seeds reticulate.
