型態特徵
Shrubs or small trees. Leaves usually coriaceous; stipules interpetiolar. Flowers terminal, trichotomously branched, often in corymbiform cymes; calyx 4-toothed, persistent; corolla very slender, the lobes 4, twisted in bud; stamens 4, in mouth of corolla; filaments short; anthers slender, base bifid. Style filiform, exserted; stigma 2-lobed, lobes linear; ovary 2-celled, ovules solitary, peltately attached to septum in each cell. Fruit globose or didymous, with 2 plano-convex pyrenes; seeds 2, peltate.
Species about 110, in the tropics of Asia and Africa. One species in Taiwan.Ixora chinensis Lam. is commonly planted in the garden.
