型態特徵
Usually epiphytes, growing on tree trunks, or moss-covered rocks, some terrestrial; rhizome dictyostelic, usually creeping; scales peltate, often clath rate. Fronds often simple (not lobed), pinnatifid, pinnate or rarely digitately lobed; stipes usually articulate to rhizome; veins anastomosing with included veinlets (venation pattern varies with the genera, often hidden). Sori usually round, oval or linear, and in some genera acrostichoid; exindusiate; peltate, clathrate paraphyses often present.

A large family of mostly tropical ferns, with about 50 genera and over 1,000 species, 17 genera in Taiwan.

型態特徵
Rhizome creeping; scales clathrate. Stipe usually short, approximate, articulate to rhizome; laminae simple, linear, lanceolate or elliptic; usually fleshy or coriaceous, sometimes herbaceous; margins entire; venation usually hidden, reticulate with free included forking veinlets. Sori round or oval, borne in a single row on either side of costa, covered with peltate, clathrate paraphyses when young.
