型態特徵
Mostly small epiphytes growing on tree trunks with mosses and liverworts, or on rocks; rhizome short-creeping or suberect; scales usually opaque or sometimes clathrate with clear lumen. Stipes tufted or approximate, usually not articulate to rhizome; fronds simple, pinnate or rarely bipinnate; venation often hidden, usually free; patent hairs usually borne on stipe, rachis and one or both surfaces of lamina. Sori round, oval or linear, dorsal or marginal, superficial or immersed; sporangia often setose; spores tetrahedral. Prothallia filamentous, branched, not cordate.

A family of tropical ferns with about ten genera, six in Taiwan.

型態特徵
Usually epiphytes, growing on tree trunks, or moss-covered rocks, some terrestrial; rhizome dictyostelic, usually creeping; scales peltate, often clath rate. Fronds often simple (not lobed), pinnatifid, pinnate or rarely digitately lobed; stipes usually articulate to rhizome; veins anastomosing with included veinlets (venation pattern varies with the genera, often hidden). Sori usually round, oval or linear, and in some genera acrostichoid; exindusiate; peltate, clathrate paraphyses often present.

型態特徵
Very small epiphytes growing on moss covered tree trunks; rhizome suberect; scales pale brown, narrow, entire; roots densely covered with reddish-brown hairs. Stipes short, tufted; fronds narrowly linear, acuminate, pinnatifid or pinnate (with adnate pinnae), each lobe (or pinna) with a single vein; costa, maigins and both surfaces more or less hairy. Sori elliptic, borne on the upper pinnae, one sorus per pinna, the lower edge of the pinna is folded upward covering the sorus; paraphyses absent.
A genus of about 25 species, two in Taiwan.
