型態特徵
Erect to prostrate herbs. Leaves opposite, entire or margins slightly sinuate or crispate. Inflore-scence a paniculate or headlike cyme, axillary or terminal, without involucre. Flowers small, bisexual; pedicels jointed, bracteolate; perianth constricted above ovary, glandular; limb caducous, funnelform, 4–5-lobed, lobes often emarginate; stamens 1–6, anthers suborbicular; ovary superior, style filiform, stigma capitate or somewhat disc-like. Fruit oblong, 3–5-ribbed, with sticky glands; embryo curved.
About 30 species mostly in tropical and subtropical regions; five species in Taiwan.
