型態特徵
Large evergreen trees. Leaves usually white or glaucous beneath, often reddish-tomentose, the midrib concave above, veinlets reticulate. Inflorescences cymes, umbels or panicles, few-flowered, axillary or in axils of caducous leaves; flowers pedicellate; bracteoles adnate to base of pedicels, persistent; perianth campanulate or urceolate, 3-lobed; stamens of staminate flowers in cylindric column or fusiform, shorter than the calyx, anthers 12-30, elongate, whorled. Pistillate flowers connate, bilobed stigmas. Fruit often large, oblong, ovoid or globose; pericarp thick, fleshy, arils connate at base, laciniate upward.
About 80 species in India, Australia, Indo-Malaya to the Pacific islands. Taiwan, two species.
