型態特徵
Trees. Leaves pinnate; leaflets entire, without pellucid lines or dots. Flowers paniculate, bisexual or unisexual; calyx 4–5-fid, dentate or subentire, imbricate; petals 3–6, free or fused to the lower or upper half of the staminal tube, valvate or slightly imbricate; staminal tube cylindrical, entire, dentate or crenulate at mouth; anthers short, alternate with the appendages, inserted within the throat of the staminal tube, included or half-exserted; disc free, long- or short-tubular, crenulate or entire at the mouth; ovary usually 2–5-celled; ovules 1–2 in each cell. Capsule globose or pear-shaped, coriaceous, 2–5 valved, loculicidal. Seeds arillate or exarillate, exabuminous.
Species about 60, many in Malaysia, and few in Australia and New Zealand. Four in Taiwan.
