型態特徵
Plants occasionally more or less shrub-like. Stems copiously branched, stout, erect. Leaf blade broad, short petiolate, sheathing at base elongated. Inflorescence racemose or paniculate with several elongated spikes. Flowers solitary or paired, subtended by a bracteole and surrounded by a sheath-like bract; sepals, free; corolla tube, 3-lobed; staminodia forming a long tube, outer staminodia petaloid, cucullate inner staminode hardly appendiculate, fleshy inner one short. Ovary 3-loculed; ovule 1 per locule, Fruit a capsule, a dehiscent or indehiscent.
About 6 species in India, Indochina and the Malesian region. One single species in Taiwan.
