型態特徵
Perennial acaulescent herbs; stoloniferous. Roots elongate, tuberous or not, thickened or fleshy. Leaves radical, grass-like or nearly so, tufted. Inflorescence a raceme, erect or ascending, sometimes arching or pendulous, elongate, terete, angled or not. Flowers few to numerous, small, white or purple; perianth superior, tepals 6, free, spreading or widely spreading, in 2 series, equal or subequal, apex obtuse to acute; stamens 6, hypogynous; filaments slender, filiform; anthers oblong, blunt, basifixed; ovary superior or nearly so, 3-celled, ovules 2 in each cell; style columnar, stigma 3-lobed. Fruit rupturing irregularly and exposing seeds; seeds berry-like, blue or blackish purple. Basic chromosome number X= 18.
Less than 10 species, mainly in eastern Asia; 2 species and 1 variety in Taiwan.
