型態特徵
Herbs or small shrubs, covered with septate hairs. Leaves sessile or subcordate; blades ovate, narrowly ovate or oblong, base truncate or subcordate, apex obtuse, acute or acuminate, margins crenate or serrate. Flowers in verticillate cymes forming terminal or axillary racemes; calyx campanulate, 5–10-nerved, 5-toothed, teeth equal or nearly so, aristate; corolla tubular, bilabiate, upper lip erect, lower lip spreading, 3-lobed, central lobe large, with a ring of hairs inside corolla tube; stamens 4, didynamous; anthers 2-celled, divergent. Nutlets ovoid, truncate at apex.
About 200 species, distributed in temperate regions; two species in Taiwan.
