型態特徵
Perennial or annual herbs, rarely shrub-like; stems terete or laterally flattened, erect, occasionally nodding above, as a rule simple. Leaves tufted, radical and cauline, occasionally reduced to bladeless or nearly bladeless sheaths at base of stem; blade, when developed, linear and dorsiventrally flattened or terete, glabrous except for pilose margins on some grass-like blades. Inflorescence corymbose, cymose, capitate or reduced to a single flower. Flowers usually with one or two bracteoles at base, usually bisexual; perianth segments 6, in two series, glume-like, free; stamens 3 or 6; ovary superior; locules1-3; stigmas 3; ovules anatropous, ascending. Capsule loculicidally dehiscent, 3-valved; seeds few to numerous.
