型態特徵
Herbs or shrubs. Leaves entire. Flowers usually in spikes or panicles; bracts large or small; bracteoles narrow; calyx 4- or 5-partite, segments linear; corolla widened from a narrow base, limb bilabiate, segments imbricate in bud, upper lip erect, acuminate, entire or emarginate, lower lip patent, obovate, 3-lobed; stamens 2, filaments often dilated; anthers 2-celled, cells oblong or rounded, usually more or less separate, at unequal levels, lower cell basally spurred; staminodes none; locules 2-ovulate; stigma slightly bilobed. Capsule with short solid base; seeds 2 per locule, compressed, tuberculate.
