型態特徵
Herbs or shrubs. Leaves toothed or subentire. Flowers sessile, in heads or spikes, rarely solitary; heads terminal or quasiaxillary on shortened branchlets, rarely panicled; bracts large, imbricate, each usually with one flower; bracteoles small, narrow, or none; calyx 5-partite, segments 5, subequal, linear-lanceolate or lanceolate; corolla long-tubular, lower half cylindric, upper funnel-shaped or ventricose, blue or white, lobes 5, rounded, subequal, contorted in bud; stamens 4, didynamous; anthers oblong, 2-celled, muticous, sometimes triangular, base acute; disc inconspicuous; ovary oblong, 3–8 ovules in each cell; style long, stigma unequally bilobed. Capsule linear or linear-oblong, 6–8-seeded; seeds compressed, discoid, minutely pubescent.
About 90 species in tropical and tropical Asia; three species in Taiwan.
