形態特徵

• Annual with fibrous roots; culms densely tufted, 5-20 cm by 0.3-0.5 mm, trigonous, smooth.
• Leaves basal, few, blades linear, 3-11 cm by 0.5-1.5 mm, flattish with weakly incurved margins, herbaceous, soft, occasionally pubescent especially on lower surface; sheaths 1-3 cm long, pale-greenish, pubescent, ventral side membranaceous, cinnamon-brown.
• Inflorescence compound to decompound, subdensely bearing many spikelets, 2-6 cm by 2-4 cm; involucre bracts lowest 1 or 2 leafy, subequal to spikelets; primary branches 4-10, filiform, unequal, 1-4 cm long. Spikelets many per inflorescence, solitary, ovate-oblong, 2-7 mm by 1.5-1.8 mm, acute, subterecte, yellow-brown, densely 10-20-flowers.
• Glumes 10-30 per spikelet, densely imbricated, broadly ovate, contracted to mucronate apex, 1-1.8 by 0.7-1.8 mm, membranaceous, yellowish brown, keel green, 3-nerved. Stamen solitary, anthers ca. 0.5 mm long. Style flat, dilated at base, ciliate above; stigmas 2. Achenes broadly obovate, 0.6-1 mm by 0.4-0.8 mm, light yellow, biconvex, rounded at apex, short stipitate at baes, cancellated with 5-7 rows of transversely rectangular cells.

• 台灣 : wet places, weedy in rice fields.
• 世界 : Temperate and tropical regions of the Old World.
