形態特徵

• Plants twining. Stems with 2 rows of reflexed hairs, forming a cross around the node.
• Leaves opposite; blade elliptic or oblong, dark green above, whitish beneath, minutely hirsute along main veins above, glabrous beneath, 2.3–7.2 cm long, 0.3–1.8 cm broad, basal nerves extending to middle portion of blade, acute to acuminate at apex, obtuse or rounded at base, margin reflexed when dried; petioles grooved, minutely hirsute, 6–10 mm long.
• Cymes axillary, simple; peduncles with hairs usually in one row, 0.6–3 cm long; rachis absent, branched and/or zigzag; bracteoles 1 at the base of each flower, lanceolate, hirsute; pedicels glabrous or sparsely pubescent, 3–4 mm long; calyx minutely hirsute outside, glands 5 inside, margin ciliate, 5-lobed, lobes broadly ovate-triangular; corolla 5-lobed, short pubescent inside, ovate, obtuse, ca. 3.5 mm long; corona 5-lobed, lobes with fleshy tumor-like appendages outside; ovaries glabrous, style slender, stigma disciform.
• Follicles 1 per pedicel, lanceolate, 7–8 cm long, apex caudate. Seeds flat, oblong or elliptic, 6–7 mm long, 1.8–2 mm broad, comose.
• This species is characterized by 3-nerved leaves, obtuse leaf base and hairs in two lines along the stem and forming a cross around the nodes.

• 台灣 : in thickets at low elevations.
