形態特徵

  • Small evergreen trees to 15 m tall; branchlets glabrescent.
  • Leaves coriaceous, elliptic to obovate-oblong, 7–17 cm long, 3–8 cm wide, acute to obtuse at apex, obtuse to slightly attenuate at base, entire, glabrous on both surfaces and nearly concolored, sometimes glabrescent beneath, lateral veins ca. 5 pairs; petioles to 1 cm long.
  • Male flowers axillary, 4-merous, sessile, 2 or 3 together in cymes; calyx 4-lobed, tube ca. 9 mm long, fulvous-tomentose outside, glabrous inside, lobes ca. 6 mm long, acute to obtuse at apex; corolla 4-lobed, lobes glabrous, reflexed; stamens 16, filaments glabrous.
  • Fruit depressed-globose, 3–4 cm across, glabrous or slightly puberulous, orange when mature, sessile.

分布

  • 台灣 : northern part, Hengchun Peninsula and Lanyu Is., in thickets and along seashores.
  • 世界 : New Guinea, tropical Australia, the Philippines, and the Ryukyus.
