Small dwarf subshrubs with creeping rhizomes; stems reddish and minutely puberulous when young.
Leaves chartaceous, ovate-oblong or ovate-lanceolate, 2–6.5 cm long, 0.6–2 cm wide, apex acute or obtuse, base rounded or slightly cordate, margins conspicuously crenate, purplish green with grayish green patches and glabrous above, purplish along veins and slightly short puberulous below, lateral veins 3–5 pairs, uniting into a marginal vein; petioles 2–3 mm long, puberulous.
Inflorescences umbellate, with several Flowers, axillary, short puberulous; peduncles 0.5–1.5 cm long, reddish, short puberulous.
Fruit globose, ca. 4 mm across, red.
