形態特徵

• A small evergreen tree.
• Leaves alternate, thickly coriaceous, orbicular to broadly ovate, 8–10 cm long, 5–7 cm broad, shortly acute at apex, rounded at base, entire at margins, glabrous, shining dark green above, yellowish green beneath, the lateral veins 4–6 per side, ascending, raised on both surfaces; petioles stout, 1–2 cm long.
• Racemes short, spiciform, several in a fascicle, few flowered; flowers sesssile or short pedicellate (to 2 mm long), bracteolate; sepals 6, rounded, about 2 mm long; corolla cylindric, about 5 mm long, 5-lobed at top; stamens 5, the anthers sessile; ovary 1-celled, 2-ovuled, 1.5 mm long, shortly hirsute.
• Fruit an ovoid to ellipsoid drupe, 3.3–5 cm long, 2–2.2 cm thick, purplish.

分布

• 台灣 : in forests on coral rocks, Hengchun Peninsula, rare.
• 世界 : The Philippines (Luzon and Batan Islands).
