A medium-sized tree; branches and branchlets densely silvery stellate-lepidote.
Leaves about 14 cm long, imparipinnate, or partly paripinnate, the rachis and petioles lepidote; leaflets 5–6, alternate or opposite, elliptic to obovate, acute at apex, cuneate at base, coriaceous, 2.5–7.5 cm long, 2–2.5 cm broad, green-lepidote above, densely silvery lepidote beneath, the lateral veins about 4 on each side of the midrib, the midrib elevated above, distinctly elevated beneath; petioles 3–6 mm long.
Panicle axillary, the rachis densely lepidote, 3–4 cm long; pedicels 1–2 mm long; calyx lepidote, 4–5-lobed, the lobes obtuse or rounded at apex; petals 4, yellow, glabrous, obovate-elliptic, concave, about 3.5 mm long, free from the staminal tube, the staminal tube about 3 mm long; anthers 8, ovate oblong, about 0.8 mm long, glabrous, sessile, inserted on the upper portion of the tube; ovary ovate, pubescent, the style none, the stigma ovate.
Capsule obovate, densely lepidote, about 3 cm long, 2.2 cm across, 3-valved.

台灣 : known only from Is. Lanyu.
世界 : Indo-China, Thailand, Caranatic, Philippines, Sumatra, Burma, E. Himalayas, South China (Hainan, Kwangtung, Kwangsi, Yunnan, Kweichow).
