A perennial herb.
Leaves deep green; leaflets obovate to rhombic-oblong, up to 2.5 cm long, 1.5–2 cm wide, the margins bluntly dentate or doubly-dentate but entire toward the base, loosely pilose on both surfaces.
Flowers solitary, calyx-lobes about 1.2 cm long, 8 mm wide, parted at apex; petals yellow, emarginate at apex; fruiting receptacles bright red, glossy, up to 1.2–1.8 cm across, with a red neck.
Achenes smooth or obsoletely elevated-nerved, glossy when fresh.

台灣 : from low to high altitudes throughout the island.
世界 : Japan, China, Korea, Indo-China, the Philippines, Java and India. Naturalized into Europe and North America.
