形態特徵

• Small Evergreen trees or shrubs, branchlets glabrous.
• Leaves alternate, clustered at the apex of branchlets, coriaceous, oblong, 3.5-6 cm long, 1.3-2.3 cm broad, obtuse-acute at apex, obtuse at base, glabrous above, glabrous and glaucous beneath, with 3 main veins, lateral veins 2 or 3 pairs on upper part of blade, 3 main veins elevated on both surfaces, reticulate veinlets flattened on both surfaces; petioles 0.6-1 cm long, glabrous.
• Inflorescences umbellate; involucral bracts deciduous; staminate flowers with receptacles densely hirsute outside, margins ciliate; pedicels 3 mm long; tepals 4, oblong, villous outside, glabrous near margins; fertile stamens 6, the filaments glabrous, barbate at base, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 3rd whorl with 2 stalked glands.
• Fruit ellipsoid, 0.9-1 cm long, 0.5-0.6 cm broad; stalks 0.8-2 cm long, glabrous.
• This species resembles to <i>N. microphylla</i> Merr., but differs from it by having Leaves entire to wavy, reticulate veinlets flattened on both surfaces when dry, and Fruit 0.9-1 cm long, 0.5-0.6 cm across, ellipsoid, and red at maturity.

flowering January to April; maturing August.

分布

• 台灣 : known only from Nanjenshan, Hengchun Peninsula.
