形態特徵

• Small semideciduous trees; branches and branchlets glabrous, grayish when dry, slender; buds elongate-ovate, obtuse at apex, imbricate-scaled, the scales rotundate-obtuse at apex, sericeous-pubescent outside.
• Leaves alternate, coriaceous, petiolate, entire, conferted near apex of branchlets, with 3 main veins, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 4.5-6.5 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm broad, broadest below the middle, acuminate at apex, obtuse at base, polished and glabrous above, glabrous and glaucous beneath, midrib slightly elevated above, prominently elevated beneath, lateral veins (basal veins) elevated above and slightly elevated beneath, other small lateral veins 2 or 3 pairs, veinlets subparallel; petioles 1-1.3 cm long, canaliculate, glabrous above.
• Inflorescences umbellate, subsessile, 3-5-flowered; involucral bracts deciduous; staminate flowers with receptacles long-pubescent outside; tepals 4, ovate, 2.5 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, obtuse at apex, densely castaneous-pubescent outside, glabrous inside, margins long castaneous-ciliate; fertile stamens 6, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 4 mm long, filaments, 3 mm long, sparsely hirsute at base, anthers oblong, introrse, 4-celled, 3rd whorl 3 mm long, filaments 2 mm long, thinly hirsute at base, with 2 subsessile glands, anthers oblong, introrse, 4-celled; staminodes none; reduced ovary ovoid, 0.5 mm long, hirsute, style 1.5 mm long, densely barbate, stigma strongly 2-lobed, 0.5 mm long; pistillate flowers unknown.

分布

• 台灣 : confined to broad-leaved forests from 800 to 1,000 m in the southern part, such as from Mt. Tawu to Mt. Shinsuiyin.
