形態特徵

• Small Evergreen trees much branched toward apex of branchlets; branches and branchlets tawny (yellowish-brown) grayish when dry, pubescent, lenticeled, lenticels somewhat elevated; ultimate branchlets densely rusty pubescent; buds small, ellipsoid, imbric
• Leaves alternate, coriaceous, petiolate, entire, with 3 main veins, toward apex of branchlets, obovate, rarely ovate, 4-5 cm long, 1.5-2.3 cm broad, obtuse or acute-obtuse at apex, obtuse or cuneate-obtuse at base, glabrous above, glabrous and glaucous beneath, slightly revolute, midrib slightly elevated above, distinctly elevated beneath, lateral main veins never elevated above, very slightly elevated beneath, lateral veins about 2 or 3 pairs, never elevated on both surfaces, veinlets indistinctly subparallel, reticulate on both sides; petioles 1 cm long, densely pubescent, nearly flattened.
• Inflorescences umbels, appear August to December, axillary or occasionally terminal; involucral bracts densely pubescent outside; staminate flowers with short receptacles; tepals 4, oblong, 2.8 mm long, obtuse at apex, densely sericeous toward base, sparsely sericeous toward top outside; fertile stamens 6, filaments 3.5 mm long, glabrescent, anthers oblong, glabrous; reduced ovary ellipsoid, glabrescent, style 1 mm long, nearly glabrous; pistillate flowers with short villous receptacles; tepals 4, lanceolate, villous outside, glabrous at margins; staminodes 6, 3rd whorl with 2 stipitate glands; ovary globose, style barbate, stigma with 2 flimsy lobes.
• Fruit globose, red, apiculate at apex, with persistent tepals.

• 台灣 : at the Nanjenshan, Hengchun.
• 世界 : Kwangtung and Kwangsi, China and Vietnam.
