形態特徵

  • Medium-sized Evergreen trees; young branchlets and Leaves brown-tomentose.
  • Leaves nearly opp-osite, coriaceous, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, caudate to acuminate at apex, acute to cuneate at base, 7-11 cm long, 1.6-3.5 cm broad, smooth and shinning above, pubescent beneath, the 3 main veins impressed, concave and elevated above, elevated beneath, 2 main lateral veins reaching to 9/10 length of midrib, veinlets between lateral veins subparallel; petioles pubescent, ca. 0.8 cm long.
  • Inflorescences cymose-paniculate, axillary or terminal, peduncle, pedicel and perianth whitish-tomentose; tepals 6, ovate, 2.5 mm long, 1.8 mm broad, densely tomentose on both surfaces; fertile stamens 9, filaments villous, anthers ellipsoid, sparsely hairy on back, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 3rd whorl with sessile glands, 4th whorl staminodia, sagittate, stalked, 0.6 mm long; ovary ellipsoid, glabrous, ca. 1.5 mm long, style about 2 mm long, glabrous.
  • Fruit oblong, 0.8-1.1 cm long, ca. 5-7 mm across, obtuse-rounded at apex.

flowering February to June; maturing October to November.

  • 台灣 : from 700 to 2,100 m in the central mountains.
  • 世界 : Central to south China, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia.
