形態特徵

Low shrubs, decumbent or procumbent, 20-70 cm tall, much branched. Branches light to dark brown, branchlets pubescent. Buds yellowish brown, bud-scale margins fused, calyptrate or capelike, splitting open on adaxial face.
Leaf blades obovate- to ovate-elliptic, or narrowly elliptic, 2.5-5 (6) cm long, 1.2-2 cm wide, acute to rounded at both ends, margins entire to sparsely dentate; immature leaf blades pubescent on both sides with brown hairs; mature leaf blades sparsely pubescent or glabrous, glaucous beneath, lateral veins 7-10 pairs; petioles (3) 5-10 mm long; stipules ovate to obovate, 0.2-0.4 mm long, deciduous.
Aments coetaneous or subprecocious, borne on leafy flowering branchlets or subsessile. Staminate aments ca. 1 cm long, on flowering branchlets ca. 0.5 cm long; stamens 2, filaments pilose near base, 3.5-4 mm long, anthers elliptic; nectary 1, adaxial; bracts pale tawny or reddish at tip, widely ovate, 1.4-1.6 mm long, with short claw at base, sparsely to densely pubescent outside, sparsely pubescent or glabrous inside. Pistillate aments 1-2 cm long, to 3 cm long in fruit; pistils pubescent with white hairs, pyriform, 1.5-1.8 mm long; style nearly rudimentary, stigma double bifid, 1-2 mm long; nectary 1, rectangular adaxial; bracts tawny or reddish at tip, 1.4-2.2 mm long, as long as stipe; ovules 6-10 per ovary.
Capsules linear-ovate.Seeds green, clavate, 1-2 mm long, with coma at base.

分布

台灣 : On mountain ridges and cliffs, 2,400-3,800 m, in northern Taiwan.
