CHARLES E DEVOL and CHENPMENG Kuo
Rhizome creeping, or scandent, dictyostelic, dorsiventral, bearing roots on ventral side and two or more rows of fronds from upper side, stipes distant or tufted; scales' brown, ovate of lanceolate, pelt at ely attached near base; stipes with one or two grooves on upper side, rounded on underside; c. s. of stipe with several bundles near base (5.7). Fronds dimorphic, simple or pinnate, the basiscopic edge of each pinna decurrent and continuous with the ridge (or wing) of rachis; veins free, simple or once forked, or anastomosing and forming areolae without included veinlets, or with free excurrent veinlets. Fertile fronds usually with longer stipes and narrower lamina; sporangia acrostichoid.
    KEY TO THE GENERA

    1. BOLBITIS Schott. 꿹
Terrestrial ferns growing on forest floors or in crevices of rocks especially by mountain streams; rhizome dictyostelic, creeping, dorsiventral, stipes stramineous, scaly, not articulate to rhizome, approximate but not tufted, with 2 grooves on upper side of stipe, with several vascular bundles at base, the two larger ones on upper sides, the smaller ones on lower side of stipe; scales lanceolate, peltately attached near base, brown. Fronds simple or pinnate, dimorphic, glabrous on both surfaces; main veins and costa distinct; smaller veinlets forming areolae, with or without included excurrent veinlets. Fertile fronds much contracted, with usually longer stipes than those of the sterile fronds. Sporangia at first following veins, later becoming acrostichoid.
About 85 species, three from Taiwan.
    KEY TO THE SPECIES
    1. Pinnae lobed, bearing a tooth in each sinus.
