,adventitous roots; stems erect, pendent, creeping, scandent or corm-like; micro- phyllous leaves with a single central vein; sporophylls arranged in compact strobili or loosely spaced on the stem, sporangia borne in axils of sporophylls or on the base of sporophylls; homosporous or heterosporous.
    2. LYCOPODIACEAE ۪Q
    CHARLES E. DEVOL
Vascular plants; stems with a protostele. Leaves with a single median vein, eligulate. Sporangia axillary or borne on adaxial side of sporophylls; spores yellow, homosporous.
    Two genera, one in Taiwan.

Stems erect, pendent, creeping or scandent. Leaves small (microphylls), usually monomorphous, spiral or decussate. Sporophylls similar to vegetative leaves or quite different.
This genus is often split into two or more distinct genera or subgenera since their gametophytes, spores and the arrangement of their vascular tissues are of different types and the species of each group have a common pattern.
About 200 species with 22 taxa in Taiwan.
