    Common stalk 1-4 cm long; sterile blade deltoid, tripartite, inserted near base, 5-14 cm wide, decompound; ultimate divisions small, ovate-oblong 3-5 mm long, the margins not hyaline; stalk of sterile blade 2-8 cm long; stalk of fertile segment 12-27 cm long; panicle 2-4 cm long.
    Distributed in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and South China to India.

    2. HELMINTHOSTACHYS Kaulf. 七指蕨屬

    Rhizome very short, fleshy, and erect in young plants, creeping in mature plants, with an ectophloic siphonostele, cortex without sclerenchyma; roots fleshy with endophytic fungi. Fronds tripartite; each division with 2-3 (or more) lanceolate lobes, the lateral lobes often decurrent; veins free, forking. Fertile spike long-stalked; sporangia borne in clusters on short lateral branches.

    Characters given in genus dercription. Lateral lobes of frond 2-4 cm wide; stipe 20-35 cm long, with 2 small stipules at base of stipe. Only one species.
    Distributed in Ceylon, India, South China, the Philippines, Taiwan, the Ryukyus, Islands of Pacific to New Caledonia and Australia. Growing at edge of marshes, often in shallow water.

    3. OPHIODERMA (B1.) Endl. 帶狀瓶爾小草屬

    Epiphyte; rhizome short; roots fleshy, Fronds a long, pendent, simple ribbon-like blade, sometimes once or more forked at apex, narrowed at base; veins reticulate; fertile segment spike-like, attached to middle of lamina, in lower part of frond. Sporangia immersed in central axis of fertile segment.
    Probably only one species.

    Characters given in genus description. Frond up to I m long, 1-4 cm wide, the margin entire; fertile spike 10-25 cm long (or longer), the stalk 3-5 cm long (or longer).
    Distributed in tropical Asia and Pacific Islands to Australia. Growing on trunks of trees or tree ferns, or persistent leaf bases of palms and in clumps of bird's nest ferns (Asplenium nidus).
