    Terrestrial herbs with subterranean corms. Corms globose, internodes few. Leaves few, elliptic, upper ones largest, plicate, base decurrent into sheath. Peduncle appearing with new leaves, from base of corm, stout, erect, drooping near apex, shorter than or nearly as long as leaves. Flowers crowded in decurved raceme; bracts narrow, membranaceous; sepals and petals similar, not widely spreading; lip sessile, hinged at base of column foot, cymbiform, saccate at base, margins involute, disc often with raised ridges and calli; column short, with curved foot; anther terminal, operculate, 2-celled; pollinia 2, waxy, often notched, attached to broad stipe and viscidium; stigma entire.

    About 10 species, from India through southeast Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines to New Guinea and Australia. One species in Taiwan.
