    Terrestrial herbs with reed-like stems. Stems erect, cylindrical, nodose, leafy above. Leaves articulated with sheaths, plicate, with tubular sheath enclosing stem. Inflorescence arising from middle or lower part of stem, erect or ascending, racemose; peduncle puberulent; bracts caducous; pedicel and ovary puberulent. Flowers ascending or pendulous; sepals and petals more or less similar, spreading to reflexed; lip attached to base of column, spurless, 3-lobed, lateral lobes erect, midlobe crispate, with short sac at joint with column, disc with 2 low ridges; column short, free from lip; anther terminal, opercular, incumbent; pollinia 8, clavate, in 2 groups of 4, caudicle attached to viscid material; stigmatic surface solitary, near apex of column, transversely narrowed under rostellum; rostellum shortly caudate, ascending, undivided.

    About six species, southern China, Japan, Indochina and Malaysia. Two species in Taiwan.
